Post Inauguration: To Work We Go

What must it be like this morning, that first day in the Oval Office? The parades have marched , the dances have been danced. That first moment behind the desk, is the firsts of many firsts today. What would you do first?

It still feels like the air is humming. That must be the sea change. It feels electric, a nation truly inspired. What would you do first?

How early did this day start, or is everyone still abed? Would you want to get up and get at it? Or savour this first day?

Are you doing anything different on this first of many days?

I'll be painting. But I am thinking, What would a painter do?

It really must be an incredible day to wake up in his shoes, n'est ce pas!? I'd be fraught with anxiety, but I have faith in him. I really think he is a good man, and I trust him. I know he'll do his utmost to help. It's so good to feel that way... This is beautiful, Janice--you're off to a good start!

I hope we all rise to the occasion too.

Thanks. I better get back to it. ;-) Stay warm.

I love how the inauguration is giving everyone the inspiration to start anew. I have so many things I want to do. First priority will be finishing the new shopping cart for my website... that could keep me busy for a while!

I also love the idea that when your heart is open, everything is new, new, new, no matter how many times you've seen or done it. I think art is all about that: seeing and creating with a sense of wonder.

Absolutely ...and it feels very good too. ;-) Lovely words. The energy is palpable all over the country.

Well I took my sorry ole ass to the pool!
This is new for me...ahem
You do what ya gotta do..or something like that.
I saw Rahm Emanuel on Charlie Rose the other nite and had to jump out of bed and get working at 12:30
These folks are dynamic...
And it's contagious.

I watched the Inauguration Ceremony on CNN TV on Tuesday and was very moved. The German TV was also broadcasting, but I wanted to listen to the original words, not the translation. Although I had quite a lot of other things to do, I couldn't leave the TV, I was fascinated and moved (more moved than fascinated). What a day!

It has to be surreal. Your painting is really coming along beautifully.
