Taking Time to Set the Stage

Since there is no pencil drawing on the Chaos pieces after the studies are done, it is important to get those major directional forms down right away.

And to establish some key color and contrast relationships.

Some tonal variations.

Thought leaders, if you will, for the theme of the painting. The stage is set at the very beginning. Every part of the paper on cue. Chords struck that will carry through every part of the page.

And so it begins. Warm pink on a chilly January day. The artist smiles as she drinks her tea, eager to dip into the paint.

How are you staying warm today?

Ooooh, luscious colors and sweeps of grandeur here. Looks lovely! I'm keeping warm with a hot cup of tea and some biscotti we made. It's nice and toasty inside here and I don't have to head out today. Can work from home. Bliss... You're off to a beautiful start with these pinks.

Homemade biscotti? Yum...glad you can work from home today...very cozy. Looks like PB has hot chocolate at her place.

The sweeps are good. Off to make secondary sweeps and refill my warm tea here. Hm, biscotti....I will have brunch in a bit, oatmeal or homemade gingerbread... hm or a hot hot omelette...I love January mornings.

What a beautiful start! I've sadly been doing a bit of housework today, that has kept me warm, not blissful, but warm.

Oh, you guys south of the Mason-Dixon line, you....!

How did I start my day?

Walking to work at minus 30C.

You know it's cold, when your breathe with your nose, and you get an ice-cream head-ache.

@Janice

Yeah, you don't want to be blowing up inflatable monkeys when it's that cold? (Have you ever stuck your tongue to a frozen metal pole?) ;-)

Aww...TOO BAD Kelly wasn't here to appreciate these enlightened comments.

That pink is beautiful! Here in Berlin temperatures have gone up a bit, but at night it is still cold.
Chai Tea is my favourite for getting warm again - tea with cinnamon, ginger and pepper, milk and honey.

Thanks Ulla, I like Chai too. I hope you are stating warm in Berlin.
