It's About Relationships

Ohhh. I hear all the guys in the room groan. Well, yesterday I said we have a seduction piece to paint...what did you expect? Relax. I just gave you a zippy little number of Harry dancing in the streets. It was almost Carl Sagan...or Dave Matthews...or this very austere guy talking about the Bauhaus...ugh...Already feeling better, aren't you? You see, it's about points and lines and planes...and the chemistry between them.

Before I can get into this and smear it around...

I have to do this. Set up some sweet spots. Pulse points if you will. And I have to make sure you are going to find them. Oh yeah, now it's getting fun. Pulse points of focus. Lines of force and direction. Planes where we'll put the perfume of color. And there will be music. The next time you look at a room full of art, find the ones you can't resist. What drew you in? Underneath it all are points and lines and planes working their way with you. Make no mistake, it's intentional. It's a bare bones call and response. Intimate essentials embedded. Rhythms. Heart beats. A dance.
Yep. Relationships.

Ah, Janice,

You've found my sweet spot with a Harry video. I adore him. Why isn't Jill in that video? Whoever it is, she is not nearly so lovely.

Do you know where the street scenes are shot? I can't imagine them clearing Bourbon Street in broad daylight, even for Harry. It looks a little bedraggled (my favorite thing about N.O.)—is it nearer to Chartres?

Lots of sexy talk here. Those fronds are going to have to be pretty magical when they're done, to hold up to your prose...

:)

Regards,

Kelly

Groan...
Wa'? and huh?

lines and planes...
Lost in translation here..

@Kelly- It looks like Royal, and a bit on Chartres. I thought thought about the promise of the prose...hey, nothing like sticking your neck out to make it interesting...:) I love Harry. Jill was safely tucked away
I 'm sure.

@PB- It's all Vassily Kandinsky. And a bit of OLD new age Theosophy. Every effort of creation begins with a point. Then you add line ( which includes force ) to get to plane...the creation of illusion... all these basics of structure set up dynamic interaction...your piece this morning can be "de-structed" to just that. The better you are at creating dynamic tensions and rhythms, the more engaged your audience. :)

Janice,

I got married on Chartres, at Le Richelieu. I remember the area very well. (Now that I'm long rid of the beast, the memory of New Orleans is pleasant again.) :)

The beautiful decay... design-wise, I was in heaven, and people are absolutely delicious in your fair city. Had some very odd experiences, odd in a nice way...

It's the most romantic place I've ever been. It was the only place I even considered getting married! Just impossible to be anything but a languid lover while you're there. Watching that video transported me.

Regards,

Kelly

Oh Kelly, I hear you there. Accidents of randomness lead to Miss Adventure. :) We could talk..... I love that video. And languid lover is the underpinning of this piece... JC
